Tomorrow I'll Wake Up and Scald Myself with Tea is a free-wheeling sci-fi comedy from Czechoslovakia. In a future where touristic time travel is common, twin brothers Karel and Jan (both played by Petr Kostka) are time machine pilots. Unbeknownst to Jan, Karel has been bribed to take a group of secret Nazis back to alter the course of the Second World War. When Karel unexpectedly chokes on a bread roll before his mission, the timid Jan sees a chance to take on his brother's identity for a more adventurous life, inadvertently signing off for a dastardly plot that leads to a mounting pile of doubles spread across the decades. Filled with imaginatively conceived special effects, Jindřich Polák's film mixes cutting political satire and wild slapstick in a riotous comedy bursting at the seams with invention.
